Research project

Single-plant-specific fertilization for resource-efficient and  demand-optimized cultivation of rapeseed and maize in equidistant  seeding (EXACT)

In order to gain new insights in the field of arable farming and crop production, it is necessary to investigate sustainable methods and strategies. The EXACT joint project is looking into an alternative sowing method (equidistant seeding) and more precise fertilization (single plant fertilization). The aim is to develop the technological basis for georeferenced sowing and the recording of crop parameters using sensor technology for maize and rapeseed crops in order to record and coordinate N requirements and N supply on a plant-specific basis, thereby significantly improving N fertilizer efficiency. These improvements are intended to serve both the protection of natural resources and the continuation of environmentally friendly, economical, and sustainable agricultural production.
