Research project
The "iQ-Hemp" project aims to establish industrial hemp as a new income source for farms and as a sustainable economic factor in the southern Saxony-Anhalt region.A new hemp processing facility will be built in the Geiseltal region to produce raw materials for ecological building products from hemp straw, providing promising future perspectives for the area.The project includes field research on suitable hemp varieties, the development of digitalized quality management based on artificial intelligence and machine learning, and automated image-based quality assessment throughout the entire value chain, in collaboration with the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg's Institute of Computer Science.
