Short description

New approaches and new technical seeding methods (equal seed patterns) combined with plant-specific fertilization are intended to bring nitrogen uptake and nitrogen supply via fertilizers into better accordance than before. This should lead to a significant improvement in Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE). At the same time, a further reduction of undesirable N losses into water bodies and the atmosphere will be achieved. Technological principles (georeferenced sowing, recording of crop parameters with sensor technology) for single-plant-specific fertilization of rapeseed and maize are to be developed. The possibilities of practical implementation of the solution approaches will be examined and optimized. Achievable effects of NUE improvement will be quantified. The application of fertilizers to individual plants will be developed as an approach for the protection of natural resources and as a component of a more environmentally friendly, more economical and more sustainable agricultural production. A transferability to other crops and the application of organic fertilizers will be assessed based on the results obtained.
