Betreuer: Prof. Dr. Bruno Glaser

topics

Humus build-up, climate-resilient and drought-resistant crops

projects

SuSaKlim- DIP project "Superfood from Saxony-Anhalt - Climate-adapted crop rotations in organic farming and development of digital value chains" (duration 1.4.2024- 31.12.2028)

The aim of the project is the cultivation of innovative, climate-adapted crop rotations and their processing into plant-based products in a region. Sustainable value chains from climate-adapted crops with potential for structural change in the Saxony-Anhalt coalfield are to be initiated and designed. The project focuses on organic cultivation and the processing and utilisation of harvested products for human nutrition in the organic segment. This is intended to support long-term prospects for economic development and jobs in the region.

The project ‘Future Food - Superfood from Saxony-Anhalt’ (duration 1 May 2019-30 June 2023)

scientifically accompanies five organic farms. Systems to increase the humus content for climate-friendly agriculture are being trialled and scientifically evaluated. Pseudocereals and pulses are included in the scientific study as plants of the future. These will be further analysed in cooperation with the Institute of Human Nutrition in order to develop pilot food products.
